Auto Loan Calculator
Practical tip: negotiate the price of the car and the financing separately. A friendly monthly payment can hide a bad deal.
Run your numbers
Estimated monthly payment
Amount financed
Total interest
Total of all payments
True cost of the vehicle
How it works: amount financed = vehicle price − down payment − trade-in. Monthly payment uses the loan formula, payment = P × r(1+r)n / ((1+r)n − 1), with r = annual rate ÷ 12 and n = months. Total interest = payment × months − amount financed. True vehicle cost = price + total interest.
How to use this tool
1
Enter the vehicle price from the sticker or the agreed sale price, before taxes and fees.
2
Enter your down payment and trade-in value. Both reduce the amount you need to finance.
3
Enter the annual rate and term from your loan offer, then press Calculate.
4
Read all four numbers. The amount financed is what you pay interest on, and the true cost shows what the car really costs you.
